Leah's Journey
Livonia family praying for a miracle
By Linda Ann Chomin Staff Writer
March 20, 2005
Leah James can't wait for the mail to arrive. A bowl in the kitchen holds the latest stack of angels and butterflies which were sent by strangers after they learned about the 4-year-old Livonia girl through the Web site www.angelsforhope.org. Leah was diagnosed with a rare inoperable brain tumor July 21 and the prognosis is not good. Leah's parents, Karen and Phil James, are praying for a miracle. The crocheted angels and butterflies arrive with a message of hope. "The angels and butterflies come from all over the U.S. and have notes that say our thoughts and prayers are with you. It's so nice at a time like this," said Karen James. "We would like more people praying for her. It's so frustrating to me that there's no cure."

Sending a symbol of hope

Angels for Hope Organization sends out free of charge crocheted angels, butterflies and smiley faces all over the world to anyone severely injured, chronically ill or to someone who simply needs hope. All are sent with a small note to the receiver carrying a special verse, and, if you want them to know, who it was requested by.

If you would like to help crochet or donate materials, visit them on the Web at www.angelsforhope.org.
